I love the beach. I love Kurtis. I love going to the beach with Kurtis. Last Sunday, after church, Kurtis and I went to the beach so he could ride around on my longboard and so we could just relax and take some photos. There's something so peaceful about the beach and Sundays. It's seriously so fun to get to just kick back and just relax and have fun at one of our favorite places together.
I really want to just talk about how important it is to just get out and enjoy nature sometimes. Whether it's the beach, the mountains, forest, desert, whatever. Getting outside and being somewhere you love just to relax and have fun (especially with someone you love) just really puts you in a good mood. Honestly, some of my favorite memories with Kurtis are the ones where we're just spending time together (I'm a quality time love language person).
This next week, I'm setting a goal to be outside more and try to relax more. I get so worked up, especially because I stress so much about every little thing. In the end, everything always works out--whether it's the way we want it to or not is a different story. But, as long as you're doing your best that's what matters. Give your best effort, be proud of your effort, and in the end, if it still isn't enough, forgive yourself, accept that it wasn't meant to be, and move on and work harder to either achieve whatever you wanted to next time, or do something else.
I found a quote on Pinterest the other day that I needed to be reminded of. It said: "Was it a bad day? Or was it a bad five minutes that you milked all day?" I've literally thought about this quote so much since reading it. How often do I milk something bad that happens and let it ruin my day?! The truth is, bad things happen, and milking them only makes things worse. The best way to get over them is to just move on and accept they happened, and be positive afterward. That's definitely a goal of mine to work on for this year. I hope you all hold me accountable for any goals I set. I'd like to challenge you to either take up these goals, too, or make your own. If you want, let me know what they are! I'd love to help you be accountable as I hope you will be for me!
