If you've been following along with me for a while, then you know my struggle to obtain an ACTUAL camera. For the last year, I'd been using my iPhone camera to take all my blog and Instagram photos. I've had my blog for over a year now (its birthday was March 10th), but with the plenty of breaks I've taken with so many moves and life changes, I only have the experience of a blogger of about 2-3 months. Honestly--and I don't mean to brag--I feel very proud of how far I've come with my blog and Instagram. I have worked hard to produce content, find my own niche, and especially on networking and marketing. I've been privileged enough to have worked with several amazing brands and continue to be blessed to do so.
Because of all this hard work, I was able to just last month FINALLY purchase a real DSLR camera. It's nothing too fancy, but it's what I could afford and still is a major step up from where I was before. I've also invested much time (and real tears) working on my editing. I've finally found my personal editing style and currently have 7 Lightroom presets that I made myself and am quite proud of. Right now though, they're only for my own use and editing here and there for friends and family, but I'm grateful to have received so many kind words about them.
Anyway, now on to the reason of this post...
With my newly acquired camera, I went on a photoshoot day with my best friend, Kendall. To be honest, I love being behind a camera so much. I used to force my little sister and her friends to let me do their hair and makeup and style them just so I could take photos of them years ago. The sound of a camera shutter is just so pleasing. From this photoshoot day with Kendall came some of my favorite photos ever taken of me for any reason--not just my blog and Instagram. They feel like ME. I have quite the boho/70s/sunshine-y/vintage vibe about me and feel like these photos literally speak as to who I am as a person without even needing any words. Although, I am writing right now about them, but that's beside the point.
I just wanted to share these photos with you because I love them. It may be weird to say that photos of myself have inspired me and my creativity, but they have and they do. They just kind of remind me of who I am and what I'm trying to share and convey with you all. I wish I could share all of them with you, but a few will do.
As always, thank you for your constant love and support and for reading this blog. Outfit details--of course--will be below the pictures.
