I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS POST BECAUSE I LOVE CHRISTMAS, I LOVE DIY, AND I LOVE DIY CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES!
This week, I'm sharing with all of you how to make this cute DIY Christmas Reindeer Holiday Sign. I got this idea from Pinterest last year and made it on canvas as well as one for my sister on wood and decided to make one for my own house and to share with all of you! I love how cute and rustic this sign looks and it honestly is so simple! Keep reading to learn the supplies you'll need as well as a step-by-step picture how-to for this project for when you do it yourself!
Okay, so you'll need brown, white, camel colored, red, black, and whatever color paint you want to use! You'll also need paint brushes, and a pencil. Everything I used is pictured below. I got all my supplies from Target, except the wood sign I painted on, which is from Michael's.
GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES. Here is everything I used...except I didn't use all the paints. I couldn't find my black paint for the life of me, so I stuck with my coal pencils for any part that needed black.
Draw the outline for your reindeer! Don't worry about any mistakes, you can either erase or paint over them. Just draw a head, body ears, antlers, and a face! The picture below will show you how the final outline should look!
Paint the reindeer! I used the chocolate brown color for their bodies and heads as pictured below. You will probably need about two coats on each part to make sure all lines are covered and the colors are vibrant.
Paint the eyes, nose, antlers, etc! Just paint the eyes white, noses black (except one, which will be red for Rudolph's nose!), paint the antlers whatever color you want (I used a shimmery brownish bronze color), paint the area between the nose and eyes the camel color, and also paint the inside of the ears that same camel color. Also, add tiny black dots in the eyes for the pupils and a small white line on the noses for a little shiny nose effect.
Finally, use red, green, or whatever color you want to write a little holiday greeting! I chose red to accent Rudolph's nose. I free-handed the greeting and I have the worst penmanship ever so it's definitely not the cutest, but I still liked it! Actually impressed with how it turned out considering how poor my penmanship is. Also, if you want to hang it, just get some twine or something somewhat strong and staple it to the back/top of it!
AND HERE IS THE FINAL PRODUCT!
The reindeer are SO. CUTE. You can literally make this DIY sign in like an hour. So simple and adds a cute little touch to your holiday decor!
Thanks for reading and hopefully this post got you into the holiday decor making mood!
